“Children, are you happy?” the Headmaster of Fountain of Peace Basic School asked the throng of children who had gathered in anticipation of receiving donated books from the WBFN Book Project. This was a cause for celebration. Guests included local government officials, Dele Oladokun, Public Information Officer with the World Bank’s Abuja office, and Iffy Davis, whose initiative and commitment had led to this moment. Wanting to make a difference in her community, Iffy, an Environmental Scientist with the Environmental Protection Agency in Washington DC, asked herself what she could do to help the kids in Nigeria. In 2009, she approached the Book Project with great hopes. Two years later, her dream came to fruition as she oversaw the distribution of approximately 30,000 books to over 50 schools in eight states.
