Sue Gail Spring, the Library Media Specialist of Norwood School in Bethesda, has been a long-time supporter and advocate of the WBFN Book Project. She is not only an almost-yearly donor of books culled from the school’s library, but has also worked with Shipment Sponsors in their countries. In 2010 she and a colleague went to Mwika, Tanzania, a small village on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro to work in the Mwika Community Library which was started with books from the WBFN Book Project. Pictures show Sue Gail and her colleague working on documents for the library, and the new library’s users at the tables. The next year she initiated and followed through on a small personal shipment for schools in Marsibet, Kenya. In 2017 she introduced individuals to the Book Project who sponsored a shipment to their home country.

Sue Gail also personally delivers books to the Book Project’s Sterling warehouse where the Book Project is allocated space for 120 palettes of books. On April 11 she delivered 19 boxes of books and in September 2018, 15 boxes. Sue Gail is seen with Kevin Moore and Lawrence Nicholson of the warehouse crew ready to unload her September delivery. Sue Gail’s many years of experience as a librarian and her first-hand experience with the Book Project’s beneficiaries ensure that the books we receive from Norwood School are perfect fits for our mission.

We are grateful to Sue Gail and our other donors who enthusiastically provide us with the books we send to the Book Project’s beneficiary students.
